He was a composer synthesizer programmer born in
Canada. Appearing on several
recordings he was brought in by Robin Scott to work on the single "Pop
Muzik" by M and appeared on several other recordings by them including the album
Famous Last Words. He
had been the business partner of Brian Hodgson in the company Electrophon
and together they had released the albums Where are We Captain...? and
New Atlantis under the name of Wavemaker. As a composer his work was
commissioned for the score of the BBC's Dr. Who story Mark of the
Rani, but sadly he died before he could finish it. It was however carried on and incorporated
into into the final result. Sadly
he died of AIDS in 1985 and the 2004 album M - The History was dedicated
to his memory.
