He is a Swedish
drummer, arranger and songwriter who began working as a touring musician
when he was just 13 years old.
In 1978 he
went to work as a session musician and in 1979 joine
up with Janne Schaffer’s Horselmat. Janne was a long-time guitarist with the group ABBA and
in 1980 Per managed to get a chance to play drums on a session for their
forthcoming single “Super Trouper”.
In 1981 he
performed on “Soldiers” and “The Visitors” on ABBA’s album The
Visitors and was the sole drummer used in 1982, aside from the track “The
Day Before You Came”, for the final recordings made by the group
before they disbanded.
Keeping his
ties with ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus
and Bjorn Andersson he drummed on their album of the
musical Chess.
He has also
been a member of the Electric Banana Band, Nils Landgren Funk Units and a long time drummer with the successful
Norwegian group a-Ha, performing on many of their albums. He has also
toured, accompanied and/or recorded with numerous other artists including Alphabeat, Michael Bolton, The Brecker
Brothers, Ray Charles, Andrea Crouch, Jamie Cullum,
Chaka Khan, Michael Landau, Kylie Minogue, Suzanne
Vega and Stevie Wonder amog
many others.
He has played
drums on an astronomical amount of albums which are far to many to list but
