She is a free-lance
violinist also credited as Katherine Livolsi an Katherine Livolsi-Stern who
has had a very busy career as an orchestral musician with various orchestras
in the New
area as well as regularly performing in Broadway productions.
Some of the
orchestras she has performed with during her career to date include the American
Symphony Orchestra, New York Pops and Queens Symphony. She has also been a member of the crossover
ensemble known as The Pit Stop Players who are mainly musicians from the
Broadway pit orchestras.
Her career as
a Broadway musician has seen her performing on countless productions since
the late 1980s such as Cabaret in
1987, Chess in 1988, Legs Diamond in 1989, Meet Me in St. Louis in 1990, Les Miserables
in 2002, La Boheme
in 2003, The Light in the Piazza
in 2006, Lovemusik
in 2007, South Pacific in 2008, Wonderland in 2011 and Evita in
all her work on Broadway an with various orchestras she has also managed to
work as a session musician in the studio with artists such as Michael Amante, Ashley Brown, Betty Buckley, Regina Carter, Dream
Theater, Melissa Errico,
Nancy LaMott, Elaine Paige, Mandy Patinkin, Rihanna, Dawn
Upshaw, Amy Winehouse and many more.
This has led
to her racking up a list of recordings with just a few of them including Duets II by Tony Bennett, Songs I Heard by Harry Connick Jr., North by Elvis Costello, One Wish: The Holiday Album by
