    Lyons, Minat

Cellist whose live performing and recording career was already out of the gates by the time she was attended the Royal College of Music.

On 19th November 2005, she performed Samuel Barber’s “Cello Concerto” with the Sidcup Symphony at Townley Grammar School in Bexleyheath, Kent.

She and pianist Madeleine Mattar interpreted Claude Debussy’s “Cello Sonata” and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Vocalise” at Wigmore Hall on 18th June 2006.  On 19th November 2006, they reunited for a recital at Chiswick Catholic Centre.

On 12th May 2007, Minat rejoined the Sidcup Symphony Orchestra at Townley Grammar School for a performance of Sir Edward Elgar’s “Cello Concerto”.

She was one of the RCM’s “Rising Stars” who performed Johannes Brahms’ “Sextet No. 2 in G major, Op. 36” at Cadogan Hall on 16th June 2008.

In 2009, she graduated with distinction and was already well ensconced in the London Symphony Orchestra.  Other groups with whom she has worked include the European Camerata, the London Concert Orchestra, Machaca, the Manning Camerata, the Orpheus Ensemble, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sacconi String Quartet, and the Tubbs Ensemble.

She performed Robert Schumann’s “Cello Concerto” with the Sidcup Symphony Orchestra at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School Hall on 20th March 2010.

On 27th May 2011, she participated in the LSO Discovery Friday Lunchtime Concert series in Jerwood Hall at LSO St. Luke’s.

The LSO offered up an All-Brahms concert at Lincoln Center on 24th October 2012.  Valery Gergiev conducted the German master’s “Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor”, with Denis Matsuev at the keys, and “Symphony No. 4 in E minor”.

In addition to a busy performing schedule, Minat also offers private cello lessons.
