    Malarsky, Leonard

    Violinist who was busy in the recording studios in the ‘60s and ‘70s.  He was an erstwhile member of the Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra.

     

    On 11th August 1962, he laid down tracks for Nat “King” Cole’s recordings of “One Has My Name, the Other Has My Heart”, “Sing Another Song (and We’ll All Go Home)”, “Skip to My Lou”, “When You’re Smiling” and “Wolverton Mountain”.  He did similar duties in June 1968 for the NBC television special, Elvis.

     

    Recordings on which he appears include:  Ain’t That Good News by Sam Cooke; All-American Boy by Bobby Bare; Anything Goes by Harpers Bizarre; Back to Mono by Phil Spector; Collected Cool by Dean Martin; Heartaches & Harmonies by the Everly Brothers; If I Were a Carpenter by Bobby Darin; In My Lifetime by Neil Diamond; It’s My Party! by Lesley Gore; Life Goes On by Paul Williams; Lumpy Gravy by Frank Zappa; Many a Wonderful Moment by Rosemary Clooney; One Hell of a Ride by Willie Nelson; Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys; Standards by Ray Charles; …That’s the Way it Is by Nilsson; That’s What Friends Are For by Johnny Mathis & Deniece Williams; White Punks on Dope by the Tubes; and, The Wichita Train Whistle Sings by Michael Nesmith.

     

    He can also be heard on the soundtracks of Big Wednesday, Desire Under the Elms, A Guide for the Married Man, and Mutiny on the Bounty.
