He
is a musician, singer and producer born in Budapest,
Hungary.He fled from Hungary
in 1975 in order to escape the communist government and became a German
citizen.In 1979 he became
part of the successful German group Dschinghis Khan (Genghis Khan) who were
formed to take part in that year's Eurovision Song Contest.He was a member of the Les
Humphries Singers which represented Germany
in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976.In 1982 he released a solo album followed by a further
two albums.He put together
the albumSoulmates which had appearances by his influences,
including Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Bobby Kimball of Toto and Jennifer
Rush.In the 1990s he
worked as a producer for artists that included Engelbert Humperdinck,
Placido Domingo and Phil Collins.In 2005 he performed with the reformed Dschinghis Khan in their
concert in Moscow and also in
the 800th Centenery of Genghis Khan concert in
Ulan Bator,
Mongoliain
July 2006.
