    Mason, Colin

He is a bass singer who was a lay clerk in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.  In 1982 he took over from Brian Kay as the bass singer for the King's Singers and remained with them until 1987.  His knowledge of early English music was such that his influence resulted in two King's Singers recordings of works by Lassus.  His Austrian wife was a member of the Wiener Blockfloten Ensemble and after they were married he moved to Vienna.  He changed his pitch to high baritone and sings with several ensembles as well as the Vienna Radio Choir.
