Teacher and
trombonist who attended the University of Alberta from whence he acquired a
Bachelor’s degree in music.
In 1997, he
appeared on a pair of recordings, Prairie
Brass and Snake Fence Country.
He has also
been a member of The Mill Creek Colliery Band and helped them commemorate
their fifth anniversary in 2007 with several concerts, including a Proms
Celebration at the University of Alberta. In November, he participated in
Brass-A-Mania at McDougall United Church in a program of music composed by
Cook, Graham, and Lloyd-Webber.
They rang out the year with a Christmas concert at All Saints
Anglican Cathedral, where Ivan soloed on “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”.
As of 2009, he
was Principal Trombone for the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra.
He is also a sessional teacher at The King’s University
College in Edmonton, Alberta.
