He is a horn player, author and teacher who grew up in
Indiana and studied at the Easter Kentucky University and Indiana
University and with various renowned teachers from acclaimed orchestras.He entered many competitions and
was a finalist twice at the Heldenleben International Horn Competition and
in his professional musical career has appeared as a soloist with the
Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra, five times at the International Horn
Symposium and at many International Horn Society workshops.He has been the Principal or
Associate Principal horn with orchestra such as the Evansville
Philharmonic, the Owensboro Symphony, the Lexington Philharmonic and
Paducah Symphony Orchestra and has also appeared with the Oklahoma Symphony
Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra and the Nashville Symphony.He is currently a member of the
Oklahoma Wind Quintet who have appeared at Carnegie Hall and Principal Horn
with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra.He has been heard on the recordings A Christmas
Delight by the Oklahoma Woodwind Quartet which was the first of its
kind for this kind of ensemble, A Time of Healing with the Oklahoma
City Philharmonic and his solo CD Bavarian Horn.As a writer he has written many
articles for The Instrumentalist and as a clinician he can often be
heard in workshops or public schools in Oklahoma.In the field of musical education he is Professor of
Horn at the University of Oklahoma School of Music.
