Randy McCormick was only a junior in high school when he laid down his first keyboard hooks with Percy Sledge. It was just the beginning of a long and illustrious career as a session musician, including work with the esteemed Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and The Mystic Soul Bubbas. Equally at home in Nashville and Muscle Shoals, McCormick has recorded with an impressive litany of artists, including Paul Anka, James Brown, Rosanne Cash, Kenny Chesney, Elvis Costello, Joe Diffie, Dr. Hook, Sara Evans, Crystal Gayle, Don Henley, Con Hunley, Michael Johnson, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Lenny LeBlanc, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Melissa Manchester, Kathy Mattea, Mindy McCready, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Mel & Tim, John Michael Montgomery, Johnny Rivers, Kenny Rogers, Linda Ronstadt, Timothy B. Schmidt, Bob Seger, Ricky Van Shelton, J.D. Souther, George Strait, Shania Twain, and Dionne Warwick. An accomplished songwriter, Randy has penned the #1 hits "Crazy in Love" for Conway Twitty, "Real Love" for Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, and "Suspicions" for the late Eddie Rabbitt. Chet Atkins, Kim Carnes, and Joe Cocker have covered his songs, as well. You can frequently catch him in action on PBS television's Austin City Limits. As recently as 2003, he and Percy Sledge reunited for second annual Muscle Shoals Music Association International Songfest at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
