He
is a trumpeter, conductor and teacher who studied at Ithaca College and
Indiana University. When he
started out on his professional career with the trumpet he became a member
of the New Orleans Philharmonic and this would be later followed by a
position in the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. He regularly performs as a soloist and with several
ensembles that include the Arch Brass Quintet and the Saint Louis Brass
Quintet, which he co-founded with the musician Robin Weatherall. As a conductor for the Saint Louis
Brass Band he led them to achieving first place when they competed in the
NABBA Challenge Championship in 1999 at Chicago with their performance of Moorside
Suite by Gustav Holst. He
has appeared on several recordings that include We Wish You a Merry
Christmas with the Arch Brass and Brass Bonanza with the Saint
Louis Brass Quintet. In the
field of musical education he give private trumpet tuition in Saint Louis,
Missouri.
