    Miller, Todd

    French horn player and timpanist who attended the University of Southern California and studied with Vincent DeRosa and William Kraft.

     

    In 1971, he joined the faculty of California State University in Fullerton.

     

    He is a founding member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra and the Pacific Symphony.  Other groups with whom he has worked include the Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Opera Pacific, and the Pasadena Symphony.

     

    In September 1975, the Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra interpreted works of Frank Zappa in Royce Hall at the University of California-Los Angeles.

     

    Members of the faculty at CSU-Fullerton performed Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Septet in E flat major, Op. 20” on 16th March 2003.

     

    In May 2010, Todd was a guest artist at the Southwest Horn Convention in San Diego, California.

     

    Recordings on which he appears include:  Diamond in the Rough by Jessi Colter; Five & Dime by David Ackles; The Movie Album:  As Time Goes By by Neil Diamond; One Shot Deal by Frank Zappa; Quiet Nights by Diana Krall; and, Serenada Schizophrana by Danny Elfman.

     

    He can also be heard on the soundtracks of The Affair of the Necklace, Bulletproof Monk, Conspiracy Theory, Dances with Wolves, Dreamcatcher, Eight Legged Freaks, Fantastic 4, Ice Age, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Joy Ride, Love at First Bite, Out of Africa, The Punisher, Robots, Titanic, Wanted, XXX, and Yours, Mine and Ours.

     

    On the small screen, he performed on the scores of The A-Team, Columbo, The Greatest American Hero, Gunsmoke, JAG, and The Rockford Files.

     

    He is the author of Carved in Stone:  The Life and Musical Legacy of Vincent DeRosa.
