    Munro, David

    Arranger, composer, music director, pianist and producer who graduated from Glasgow University and soon thereafter went to work for the Scottish Ballet.


    Other groups with whom he has worked include the Cincinnati Pops, the Dubliners, the London Contemporary Dance Theatre, the Miami City Ballet, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, the Northern Ballet, Random Dance, the Royal Ballet, the Singapore Ballet, the Singapore Dance Theatre, the Spokane Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.


    From 1998 to 1999, he was the music director of the Scottish Opera.  For four years, he served in the same capacity for the touring troupe, Scottish Opera Go Round. 


    He was involved with a production of Chicago in the West End in 2002 when he was offered a chance to become music director of the Celtic Tenors.


    In 2005, he produced and arranged Deirdre Shannon’s eponymous solo debut. 


    He was the musical director of Menopause:  The Musical and producer for the Celtic Divas from 2008 to 2009.


    From 2009 to 2010, he was the musical director of the Canadian Tenors and a musician at Cauldron Recording Studios.


    In 2011, he worked at Amberville Studios and became the musical director and producer for Celtic Thunder. 


    His compositions have appeared on the BBC Radio 4 program, Musical Story Book, and been performed by PrimaDiva and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.


    Recordings with which he is credited include The Canadian Tenors, Remember Me by the Celtic Tenors, and Voyage and Voyage II by Celtic Thunder.


    In the field of music education, he has been active with the Moving on Music program, From Get in to Get Out, a series of workshops for budding musicians who get to interact with professionals in the industry.
