December 2007, the RPO honoured the sixteenth
anniversary of Kazakhstan’s
independence with a performance of “Kyz Kuu” from Tles Kazhgaliev’s “Symphonic Suite” (“Steppe
Dreams: The Music of Sergei
Prokofiev” took place at Lincoln
Center in March 2009
with Valeri Gergiev conducting the LSO. Included in the eight-day homage were
all of the Russian master’s symphonies and most of his concertos for
piano and violin.
September 2010, Iwona interpreted Giuseppe Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill”
sonata with Stylus Phantasticus in Curtis
Auditorium at the CIT Cork School of Music.
Clemens Schuldt conducted the LSO on 13th March 2011
in the world premiere of “Halo” by Vlad
May 2011, the LSO premiered Tim Garland’s “Concerto for
Percussion, Saxophone and Orchestra”.
They gave the European
premiere of Andre Previn’s “Concerto
for Violin, Viola and Orchestra” with Yuri Bashmet
and Anne-Sophie Mutter at Barbican Hall on 19th February 2012.
