    Newman, David L.

Jazz violinist who appeared on Coleman Hawkins’ Body & Soul and The Hawk in Hi Fi.  In 1979, he was a member of the string section on Frank Sinatra’s boxed set, Trilogy.  A year later, he performed on Lalo Schifrin’s soundtrack to the Robert Redford prison drama,  Brubaker.  There are many opportunities to hear David on CD:  He can be heard on the mammoth boxed sets, Capitol Records 1942-2002 and The Jazz Singers 1919-1994, the television soundtrack album, Ken Burns Jazz, and R&B:  From Doo Wop to Hip Hop.
