He is a bass singer, keyboardist, conductor and music
director who began his life in music by being taught the piano by his
grandmother when he was five years old. He performed and conducted in his local church and
school as a teenager and later went on to gain a degree in music education
at McNeese State University, Louisiana.He performed solo for various ensembles that came from
the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music and moved on to work with Robert Shaw
and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and in the offshoot choral ensemble, the
Robert Shaw Chamber Singers.As a conductor he has led school ensembles in festival clinics, members
of the Atlanta Symphony and Forth Worth Symphony and since 1986 has
conducted the choir and orchestra from Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. He became the president of the
Performing Arts Committee of the Gwinnett Council for the Arts and in 1995
he became a founder of the Gwinnett Philharmonic who he has been music
director and conductor for ever since.
