French horn
player and trombonist who did a lot of recording with Frank Sinatra during The Columbia Years (1943-1952) and
then later popped up on 1979’s Trilogy.
Ella
Fitzgerald was another artist he worked with extensively, appearing on The Best of the Songbooks: Love Songs, The Very Best of the Gershwin Songbook, and The Very Best of the Harold Arlen
Songbook. He also performed
on Pat Boone’s box set, The
Fifties: Complete and Come on-a My House: The Very Best of Rosemary Clooney.
In the 1960s,
hey hey, he joined The Monkees
on The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees and read their charts on Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones
Ltd. He also appears on The Definitive Monkees
and their Greatest Hits.
Other artists
and groups with whom he has recorded include Lalo
Schifrin—he made our day on the soundtrack of Sudden Impact—Sunset Bombers on their creatively titled Sunshine Bombers, and John
Williams.
