biggies: La Boheme, Carmen, The Flying
Dutchman, Madama Butterfly, The Pearl Fishers, Rienzi,
and La Traviata.
His recordings include Fascinating
Rhythm, Shadows, and Swing Ye Noel.
He has served
as Assistant Conductor and Resident Pianist of the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra and Artistic Director of the Choral Guild of Atlanta, Classic
Chamber Concerts, and Providence Opera Theatre. He also founded the Atlanta Opera
and the 5th Avenue
Chamber Orchestra, and conducts the Miami International Piano Festival
and groups with whom he has worked include the AIMS Festival Orchestra, Christian
Badea, the Dekalb
Symphony, the Jupiter Symphony Orchestra, Milton Katims,
James Levine, Francesco Libetta, Zubin Mehta, Jorge Mester, the
Metropolitan Opera, John Nelson, the New Mexico Symphony, the New York City
Opera, Opera Naples, Eve Queler, Julius Rudel, the Savannah Symphony, Robert Shaw, the Tupelo
Orchestra, Donald Vorhees, and Sijing Ye.
adventures have taken him to Aspen, Beijing, Belgium,
Brevard, Italy, and Spoleto. He has performed at Carnegie Hall
and Lincoln Center and the Royal Residence of HRH
Prince Edward and Countess Sophie.
In addition to
having a royal audience, he also has a radio and television audience. He has appeared in specials on CBS
and PBS and has hosted Fanfare on
radio for several years.
In his copious
free time, William has served as the Ritz-Carlton’s Executive Director
of Entertainment for a quarter of a century.
November 2010, he conducted the Opera Naples World Star Benefit Concert at the
Moorings Presbyterian Church Sanctuary in Naples, Florida.
