One of the
founding members of the ‘60s R&B group, The Moments. His band-mates included Mark Greene,
Richard Gross, and John Morgan.
In 1963, they
issued a single entitled “Walk Right In”. Another early recording was “Baby
I Want You”, backed with “Pray For Me”.
They appeared
on the 1968 album, Not on the
Outside, But on the Inside, Strong!. The title track, “Not on the
Outside”, went to #13 on the R&B chart.
Eric, Mark and
Richard left the band in 1969 and inked a deal with Stax-Volt,
where they became known as The Leaders. Eric sang lead vocals on their song,
“Anyone Can”.
