He is a
virtuoso violinist, composer and arranger also known as RRRRRRRobin
who initially wanted to play the drums when he as young but due to the fact
that his uncle was a violin teacher he learned that instead. He later studied at De Pauw University, Indiana and Indiana University.
In the early
years of his professional career as a violinist he performed several jobs
until joining the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and working at local film studios
on movie soundtracks.
After spending
18 years as the Associate Conductor with the HSO he left his position to
pursue his work as a composer.
This has led him to compose and perform many orchestral works for
movie soundtracks, television, popular music and commercials and hold the
position of President of X-1 Records/X-1 Performance, which he has held
since 1997.
He suffered a
motorcycle accident in 1999 which cast doubts on whether he’d be able
to make future performances but by 2001 he was back up and running and in
2001 was the opening act for Olivia Newton-John’s on her world
tour. He has also opened his
own Studio Q.
Through the
course of his career he has become one of Hollywood’s most requested violinists and
performed with countless popular artists. Just a select few of them include
Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas, Mary J.Blige,
Andrea Bocceli, Garth Brooks, Michael Bolton,
Michael Buble, Chicago, Eric Clapton, Counting
Crows, Celine Dion, The
Eagles, El DeBarge, Jose Feliciano, Josh Groban, Guns & Roses, Whitney Houston, Carole King,
Queen Latifah, Madonna, Bette Midler, The
Pussycat Dolls, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kenny
Rogers, Sting and Caron Wheeler.
As you will
understand, his recording output is massive but a few of his CDs include
his own Passion with live DVD and
A Violin Christmas released in
2008 as well as When My Heart Finds
Christmas by Harry Connick Jr., Movie Album:
As Time Goes By by Neil Diamond, Peachtree Road by Elton John, Timeless: Live in Concert by Barbra
Streisand and October Road by
James Taylor and Real Thing by
Vanessa Williams.
He has also
been a performer on movie soundtracks that run to probably around 1,500 to
date, maybe more. They include Aladdin, Along Came a Spider, American
Beauty, all the Austin Powers
movies, four of the Batman
movies, Bulletproof Monk, both Charlie’s Angels movies, Conspiracy Theory, Dreamcatcher,
Independence Day, Jurassic Park, Legally Blonde, The Lion King, Men in
Black 1 and 2, all three Mission
Impossible movies, Mulan, Pirates of
the Caribbean 1 and 2, Rush Hour, Salton Sea,
