     Orlowski, Joseph

    He is a clarinettist and teacher who performed with the National Ballet Orchestra and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra before joining the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as Second Clarinet in 1988.  That same year he also became a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and held the post of Associate Principal Clarinet until 2000.  When he left there he became the Principal Clarinet with the Canadian Opera Company and the three years he spent with them saw him performing on several productions.  In 2006 he performed with Bob DeAngelis & the Champagne Symphony Pops Orchestra on a tribute to Benny Goodman. 

     

    A busy chamber musician, he has performed several solo recitals and made appearances at various festivals an in Chamber Series stage by McGill University. 

     

    Active in the recording studio he has appeared on many albums which include Tangent by The Amazing All My Children Band, Beethoven: Forever By the Sea by Dan Gibson, World Voyage by John Herberman, Adeste Fidelis by Gino & Louis Quilico, Judy Loman and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra & Chilren’s Chorus, Mostly Railroad Music by Eldon Rathburn, The Collection and Mozart’s Magic Fantasy from the Classical Kids Series and the soundtrack of Crash. 

     

    In the field of musical education he is a certified trainer for professional musicians an I on the faculties of the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto.
