     Ossum, Torunn Ostrem

    She is a mezzo-soprano born in Namsos, Norway, who took studies in drama and music at Oslo’s College of Early Childhood Education.  She also took singing studies at Oslo at the Ronningen County College.

     

    After starting out on her singing career she performed with ensembles that include Con Spirito, Nordic Voices and The Norwegian Soloists.  Then in 1997 she became a co-founder of the successful Trio Mediaeval who quickly gained recognition and are a busy touring group and active recording artists.

     

    Albums she has appeared on include Words of the Angel, Stella Maris, Sor dit Elle and the Grammy Award nominated Folk Tales.

     

    Aside from her work with Trio Mediaeval, she also gives solo performances with Grex Vocalis and coaches a junior theatre group.
