He is a violist and teacher born in Brisbane, Australia, who undertook his musical studies in Australia and the United States. Splitting his time between the two countries, he has been a violist/Principal Violist with the Rochelle Abramson Ensemble, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Capitol Ensemble, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pacific Serenades, Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Carmel Bach Festival in California. He is also a co-founder of the Petra String Quartet. A much-travelled performer he has given concerts all over the world as a soloist, orchestra member and a chamber musician.

He is also no stranger to the recording studio and has lent his musical talents to numerous scores for films that include Ice Age, Inside Man, The Interpreter, King Kong, March of the Penguins, Master and Commander, Material Girls, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Schindler’s List, Separate Lives and Titanic. In the field of musical education he has been a Professor of Violin at the University of Tasmania.
