    Peterson, Anne

Bassist and double bassist who received her Bachelor of Music degree from Temple University’s New School of Music and supplemented her education at the 1978 New York String Orchestra Seminar.

One of her first recordings was the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Christmas album, Gloria!  Gloria!, recorded and released in 1987.  In 1988, she played bass on the Bach Choir’s stocking stuffer, Christmas in Leipzig.

She participated in the first ever joint concert of Lehigh University and Lafayette College on 9th April 1990, an amplified affair that featured “Songs, Drones and Refrains of Death” by George Crumb.

In 1996, she played double bass on the Orchestra 2001 album, Distant Runes.  She switched back to bass on the Peter Nero & the Philly Pops yuletide offering, Holiday Pops!, in 2003.  In 2004, she appeared with Tempesta di Mare on their CD, Weiss:  Lute Concerti.

She was a string coach during the Delaware County Youth Orchestra’s season in 2006 and 2007.

In April 2009, she performed with The Network for New Music Ensemble in a pair of concerts dubbed “Visions of America” which included Richard C. Brodhead’s “Concerto in Light and Shadow”.  The same year saw the release of Johann Sebastian Bach:  Complete Harpsichord Concertos on Antique Instruments.

On 22nd April 2010, she performed the all-important bass bits in Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” at Copeland Lecture Hall in Winterthur, Delaware.

Recent years have found her in demand in various capacities.  She has served as Assistant Principal Double Bass with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and The Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, Double Bass, Principal Bass and Personnel Manager of The Orchestra of the Pennsylvania Ballet, and Lecturer at Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music.
