     Puett, Billy

    Also known as William Puett, he is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist on basically anything that is blown; saxophone, flute, recorder, clarinet, horn, you name it.  He has been a member of the Pousette-Dart Band and as a session musician has been heard with performing with hundreds of artists from the early 1970s onwards including John Anderson, Kathy Barnes, Vassar Clements, Gene Cotton, Randy Crawford, Dr. Hook, Crystal Gayle, Johnny Gimble, Steve Goodman, Merle Haggard, Michael Johnson, Denny Laine, Brenda Lee, Lonnie Mack, Dean Martin, Curtis Mayfield, Paul McCartney, Jimmy McCulloch, Reba McEntire, Tracy Nelson, Mickey Newbury, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, Leon Russell, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Earl Scruggs, Sheldon Kurland Strings, Hank Snow, The Statler Brothers, Ray Stevens, Billy Swan, B.J. Thomas and Randy Travis and many more.  His own compositions, often in Christian music, include "Afternoon Rain", "Friend of Darkness", "Isaac's Creek" and "Voices Unheard".  Featuring on countless recordings, some of them include Living and Dying in 3/4 Time, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, Son of a Son of a Sailor and Volcano by Jimmy Buffett, Troubadour by J.J. Cale, Buzz by Buzz Cason, Me, I'm Feeling Free by Marshall Chapman, Sweet Dreams by Patsy Cline, Nights are Forever and Dowdy Ferry Road by England Dan & John Ford Coley, 7-Tease/Slow Down World by Donovan, Mercury Smashes...and Rockin' Sessions by Jerry Lee Lewis, Wide Prairie by Linda McCartney, Nashville Was the Roughest by Willie Nelson and Amnesia by The Pousette Dart Band.
