He is a trumpeter
born Marc Brian Reese who studied music at the Juilliard School and the Tanglewood
Institute, becoming a Fellow of the Tanglewood Music Center, followed by gaining degrees at Boston University and New England Conservatory.
He became a
member of Empire Brass in 1996 and has also managed to also work as a
soloist and chamber musician giving performances on a national and
international basis. He has
given performances with several acclaim orchestras such as the Boston
Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra and New York Philharmonic. He has also been a performer in many
world premieres, written many arrangements and commissioned new trumpet

the recording studio he has recorded the solo album The Other Trumpet as well as performing on releases such as George Rochberg:
Black Sounds by the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Shostakovich: Symphony No.5/Cello
Concerto by the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Summon the Heroes by the Boston Pops Orchestra, Baroque Music for Brass and Organ, Class

His wife is
the pianist Lisa Leonard and together they have given performances of works
such as the commissioned Concerto by James Stephenson and Concerto for
Piano, Trumpet and Strings by Shostakovich.
He is the
contributing editor for the music column Chamber Connection in the
International Trumpet Guild Journal.
In the field
of musical education is has held many trumpet master classes and has been
the Head of Brass Department and Assistant Dean at the Conservatory of
Music at Lynn University. He
has also been an adjudicator and competitions and conferences, a clinician
for the Conn-Selmer Company and taught at several
