    Reigersberg, Vera (1979 – Present)

    Violist from Vienna, Austria, who attended the University for Music and studied with Peter Ochs Hofer, Wolfgang Klos, Gunther Pichler and Dora Schwarzenberg.

     

    Groups with whom she has worked include Dolby’s Around, Doremis-Ensemble Wien, Haydn Trio Eisenstadt, Junge Philharmonie Wien, Orquesta de Valencia, the Prague Quattro Chamber Orchestra, the Vienna Classical Players, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Quartet and the Viennese Schubert Ensemble.

     

    On 25th June 2005, she and violinist Anne Harvey and Haydn Trio Eisenstadt participated in the International Haydn Festival at Schloss Esterhazy.  Their program comprised Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Quartet in D major, WoO 36/2”, Antonin Dvorak’s “Piano Quintet in A major, Op. 81”, and Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Concertino in G major, XIV:13” and “Divertimento in F major, Hob.XIV:9”.

     

    Vera and cellist Michael Gunther, flautist Karl Heinz Schutz and violinist Anton Sorokow performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Flute Quartet in D major, K. 285” on 9th June 2006.  The recital was rounded out by Franz Schubert’s “String Trio in B major, D. 471”.

     

    On 27th May 2008, Dolby’s Around appeared in Brahms Hall at Musikverein Wien where they interpreted Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for String Orchestra in C major, Op. 48”.  The eclectic program also included Duke Ellington’s “Sophisticated Lady”, George Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm” and Danny Elfman’s “Theme from The Simpsons”.

     

    The Vienna Symphony Quartet took the stage at The Rosen Saal on 22nd November 2009, when they offered up Dvorak’s “String Quartet No. 12 in F major, Op. 96” (“American”), F.J. Haydn’s “String Quartet No. 3 in G minor, Op. 74” and Reinhard Suess’s “Quartet No. 1”.

     

    On 19th April 2010, they appeared at Congress Innsbruck where they reprised the Dvorak and Suess works and performed F.J. Haydn’s “String Quartet No. 4 in B major, Op. 76”.

     

    Vera, pianist Soojin Anjou, violinist Claire Dolby, cellist Michael Gunther and bassist Ernst Weissensteiner took part in the Bregenz Festival at the Seestudio on 21st August 2011.  Their recital included “Sonata for Piano” by Hyacinthe Jadin, and “The Bagpiper’s String Trio”, “I Broke Off a Golden Branch” and “Piano Trio” by Judith Weir.

     

    On 11th March 2012, Doremis-Ensemble Wien appeared at Musikverein Wien where they presented Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s “Flute Concerto in D minor, Wq 22” and “Trio Sonata in C major, Wq 147”, and Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major, BWV 1050” and the “Trio Sonata” from “Musikalischen Opfer”.

     

    Vera and violinist Florian Zwiauer were the guest soloists of Orquesta de Valencia at Sala Iturbi on 22nd March 2013, when they performed Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante, K. 364”.  The concert concluded with Felix Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 4, Op. 90” (“Italian”).

     

    Recordings on which she appears include:  Franz Baur:  Streichquartette with violinists Johannes Pflegers and Martin Zalodek, and cellist Nikolaus Straka; Viola Sound 1; and, W.A. Mozart:  5 Quartets with Flute by flautist Jasmine Choi, cellist Attlia Szekely and violinist Florian Zwiauer.
