He is a singer-songwriter, saxophonist and flautist
born William Francis Risbrook in Brooklyn, New York.In the early 1970s he and his
brother, Louis, were co-founders of the King Davis House Rockers, which
evolved into B.T. Express after several name changes.They saw success in 1974 with the
hits "Do It ('Til You're Satisified)" and his co-written "Express" and
later chart songs such as "Give It What You Got" and "Give Up the
Funk".Other songs he
wrote/co-wrote for the group include "Depend on Yourself" and "Energy
Level".Some of the albums heappeared on with B.T. Express
include Energy to Burn, Function at the Junction, Non-Stop and Shout!
They disbanded in the
mid-1980s but there have been several compilation albums released since and
a new version of the line up re-appeared during the 1990s.
