Oboist who has
managed to keep one foot in the recording studio and one foot on stage for
the better part of three decades.
In 1979, she
appeared on Frank Sinatra’s boxed set, Trilogy. Then she
became involved with the American Harp Society and the South Bay Chamber
Music Society, Inc. On 13th
December 1985, Kathleen appeared with the Marchand
Ensemble in an SBSMS program that featured music ranging from Johannes
Brahms to Jean Francaix. A year later, she could be found at
the National Harp Conference in Los Angeles, performing the Andante
sostenuto from Toru Takemitsu’s “Eucalypts II for Flute, Oboe
and Harp”. On 16th
January 1987, she returned to the SBSMS with the Mladi
Wind Quintet, again playing a wide variety of music from the pens of such
diverse talents as Anton Reicha and Gyorgy Ligeti.
In the
mid-‘90s, she appeared on a pair of albums, Harry Connick,
Jr.’s 1993 stocking stuffer, When My Heart Finds Christmas, and
Julie Migenes’s 1994 Hollywood tribute
album, Smile. She is also credited with playing
English horn and oboe on Cindy Paley’s Shabbat Shalom.
In the new
millennium, she teamed up with the Dale Warland
Singers at the National Harp Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota, and in the
recording studio for another Yuletide release, Christmas with the Dale Warland Singers.
