    Rucker, Steve

    He is a drummer born in Charlotte, North Carolina.   He studied at the Berklee College of Music and the University of Miami.  He was a member of the Ross-Levine band in the 1980s and the Randy Bernsen's Ocean Sound Band during the 1980s and '90s.  He has performed with many artists including Paquito D'Rivera, Gloria Estefan, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis and the Bee Gees.  Working with Ben Vereen he has appeared with the Atlanta Symphony and the Dallas Symphony.  He now works at Miami University's Frost School of Music as a Director of the Drumset Program and has published the bookThe Advancing Jazz-Pop-Rock Drummer.
