He is a horn player, organist and teacher born in
England. He started his
professional career performing with groups such as the Philip Jones Brass
Ensemble, and the English
Chamber Orchestra and would later spend a six-year period with the Orchestra
of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. After leaving the opera house his interest tended to veer
towards the playing of period pieces and to this end he could be heard with
the Ancient Academy of Music, The Wind Soloists of the Chamber Orchestra of
Europe, Collegium Music 90 and the English Concert. Working as an orchestral contractor
he has also worked with many artists such as the acclaimed film composer
John Barry. As an organist he
performed at the Holy Trinity, Sloane Street and in 1998 became the
Director of Music and Choir Director for the Little St. Mary's in Cambridge. Heard on numerous recordings his
albums include Johann Sebastian Bach: Brandenburg Concerti with the
English Chamber Orchestra, Haydn Symphonies, Handel: Orchestral Works
and G.F. Handel with The English Concert, Brahms: Choral Works
with the Monteverdi Choir and Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition and
Eine Kleine Brass Musik with the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and Beethoven:
Music for Wind Instruments by the Wind Soloists of the Chamber Orchestra
of Europe. In his
teaching career he currently tutors horn students in Cambridge,
England.
