Author,
cellist and teacher who attended Juilliard and went on to join the Houston
Symphony before emigrating to L.A. where he discovered the joys of session
work. He worked on movie
soundtracks such as Electric Dreams
and Faces and recorded on such
diverse albums as Peter Allen's Taught
By Experts, American Jazz
Philharmonic, Ronnie Laws' Fever,
Randy Newman's eponymous debut, Frank Sinatras Trilogy, and Donna Summer's Live and More. He also found time to hone his
classical cello as a member of the Coriolan
String Quartet. Victor has been
President of the California American String Teachers Association, having
taught at Long Beach's California State University for over two
decades, and Artistic Director for CASTA's
Summer Institute of Chamber Music.
He also helped found the Los Angeles Violoncello Society, and serves
as a coach for the Young Musicians Foundation Chamber Music Series. In 2008, Victor won the American
String Teachers Association's Distinguished Service Award. He has written a pair of books, Musical Puzzles of Note and New Directions in Cello Playing: How to Make Cello Playing Easier and
Play Without Pain.
