Conductor,
teacher, and violinist who has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, New
York Philharmonic, and San Francisco Symphony. He has also performed on Broadway
musicals and movie soundtracks, as well as appearing in the 1981 film, Choices, as—what else—a violinist. Ross appears on Frank Sinatra’s
1979 boxed set, Trilogy, and
Prince’s neoclassical offering, Kamasutra, as a member of The
NPG Orchestra. He apparently
loves working with kids: In
1975, he served as a coach/conductor for the Minnesota Youth Symphony, and
for twelve years he has taught at Sepulveda Middle School in California.
