    Sohm, Andreas (1966-Present)

He is a double bass player born in Alberwschwende, Austria, who started to learn the piano when he was ten years old.

After changing his interest to the double bass he studied at the Felkirch Conservatory and then moved on to the University of Music and Performing Arts at Graz.

In 1987 he took up the position of double bassist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.  Six years after he joined the orchestra he and three other co-musicians formed the Johann Strauss Quartett and became a professional ensemble in 1994 after receiving acclaim.
