     Spielberg, Norman

    He is a contrabassoonist who has been member of the Concert Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, now known simply as the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.


    Around 1989 the Concerto Soloists of Chamber Orchestra commissioned the composer Daniel Dorff to write a concerto for contrabassoon and small orchestra for Norman which was premiered by them in 1991.


    During the course of his career he has also performed with orchestras and ensembles such as the Ama Deus Ensemble and Orchestra 2001.


    Recordings he has performed include Beethoven: Missa Solemnis by the Ama Deus Ensemble, Orchestra 2001, Vol. 4 and Music of Gerald Levinson by Orchestra 2001 and Gloria! Gloria! by Benita Valente, The Philadelphia Singers & Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.
