    Steen, Robert

    Multi-reed instrumentalist who has been equally active as a studio musician and a musical theatre orchestra member, appearing on the soundtrack albums Big River, Girl Crazy, and Phantom.  He is also credited with playing clarinet, flute and oboe for the whopping, four-day run of 1985’s Harrigan ‘n Hart.  Some of the artists with whom he has recorded are Rupert Holmes, Cleo Laine, Mandy Patinkin, and Wallace Roney.  He also appears on Barbara Cook’s 1999 album of show tunes, Close as Pages in a Book.
