Keyboard player and background vocalist for The Royal
Guardsmen. He and fellow
Guardsmen Chris Nunley and Barry Winslow all went to high school together and
played in the marching band in Lake Weir, Florida. At the time, they were planning to
start their own band, The Griffins, which never got off the ground. Instead, the three of them wound up
auditioning for The Royal Guardsmen.
Taylor missed his one chance to shine as a lead singer when they did
a cover version of The Coasters' "Charlie Brown" and Charles
Schulz, already losing his patience with all the Snoopy songs, asked them
to kindly leave it off the album.
He has been playing non-Peanuts
related material with a bluegrass outfit named Backwater when he's
not busy touring with the reunited Royal Guardsmen.
