He is a singer-songwriter, keyboardist and musical
director whose name is pronounced "Shudin".He has worked with many artists and groups throughout
the course of his musical career who include David Bowie, Jimmy Buffett, James
Cotton Blues Band, Tim Curry, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy and many
more.As a songwriter he has
co-written the songs "Quietly Making Noise" and "Cousin in Miami" with
Jimmy Buffett.Albums he can
be heard on include his own Michael Shudin and Fruitcakes and
Barometer Soup by Jimmy Buffett, Have You Gone Bald Inside Your
Head by Shep and The Fort Mudge Memorial Dump.His work in the movies has seen him
as the composer of the scores for the 1973 Injun Fender and 1974's Honeybaby,
Honeybaby, on the TV he has composed for the series "Dear Alex and Annie"
and on stage he has been the musical director/conductor of Reggae, Don't
Step On My Olive Branch and Oh! Calcutta.After his wife passed away in 2004 he
stepped back from touring and became the Artist-in-Residence at Palm Beach
Public School and also joined the West Palm Beach First Lutheran Church as
their Director of Music Ministries.
