    Turnbull, John

He is an English guitarist and singer-songwriter who became a member of Ian Dury and the Blockheads in the mid 1970s.  They achieved success with hits that included "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick" and "Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3" and he was a co-writer on many of the songs on their albums.   Aside from his success with The Blockheads he has also played for Skip Bifferty, Heavy Jelly, Arc, Glencoe, Paul Young, Eurythmics, and Bob Geldof.  The 1960s movie Get Carter had him singing and playing as part of the soundtrack.  Since the death of Ian Dury he continues to perform with The Blockheads on guitar and vocals.
