He is a bassist, guitarist, singer, arranger, producer
and composer born in Stockholm, Sweden who started his musical career in 1968
and saw his first success with the band Made in Sweden, with whom he won
two Swedish Grammis Awards and also Solar Plexus. At the same time he become known as a Stockholm studio
musician and for his songs written for children, which won a further two Grammis
Awards. Getting noticed in
other areas of the world he was made a member of the band Blood, Sweat and
Tears in 1972 who he stayed with for three and a half years until 1975 and
from 1979 to 1985 he was one of the
Saturday Night Live Band.
Alongside this he had made his name in New York as a session
musician and was soon heard performing with artists that include the Benny
Andersson, Backstreet Boys, James Brown, Dr. John, Donald Fagen, Marianne
Faithfull, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Freddie Jackson, Robert Plant,
Diana Ross, David Sanborn, Simon & Garfunkel, Steely Dan, Luther
Vandross and Dionne Warwick among many others. Deciding to return to his native Scandinavia, he teamed
up with Leif Johanson of A-ha and together they now a studio in Oslo,
Norway, where he spends much of his time producing artists such as Anne
Sofie von Otter. He also has a
quartet, which he regularly tours with. Appearing on numerous recordings he has been heard on
his own Goda, Goda as well as Interloop with his own quartet,
I Let the Music Speak by Anne, Sofie van Otter, Snakes in a Hole
and Made in England by Made in Sweden, No Sweat and Mirror
