    Waters, Oren

    Arranger, choir director and vocalist who was a member of The Waters, along with his brother Luther and sisters Julia and Maxine.  They have recorded in various combinations over the years, on a purported total of more than 100 platinum and 260 gold albums.

     

    Oren’s discography is massive, and the following is just a snapshot of his prolific output.  Recordings on which he has appeared include:  All Out Love by Gladys Knight & the Pips; Bloodline by Glen Campbell; The Christmas Album by David Foster; Dance of the Rainbow Serpent by Santana; Every Day is a New Day by Diana Ross; The Fox by Elton John; A Good Day by Priscilla Ahn; Harps and Angels by Randy Newman; In My Lifetime by Neil Diamond; Just Ain’t Good Enough by Johnny Taylor; Let’s Hear it for the Boy by Deniece Williams; Monster by Herbie Hancock; Nothing to Lose by Eddie Money; One Wish:  The Holiday Album by Whitney Houston; Praise & Blame by Tom Jones; The Rumour by Olivia Newton-John; Stranger in Town by Bob Seger; Thriller by Michael Jackson; Ultimate Christmas Collection by Chicago; Vuelve by Ricky Martin; The Way I Am by Billy Preston; and, XYZ by Andy Summers.

     

    He can also be heard on the soundtracks of Brother Bear, Copout, Dick Tracy, For Love of Liberty, Godzilla, Happy Feet, Ice Age:  The Meltdown, The Jazz Singer, King Kong, Little Shop of Horrors, Matrix Revolutions, Norbit, The Public Eye, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Superman Returns, and Vampire in Brooklyn.

     

    On the small screen, he is has sung music for the following programs:  American Dreams, Boston Legal, A Different World, Fame, The Grammy Awards, Howie Mandel, The Jeffersons, Married With Children, The People’s Choice Awards, Quincy Jones 50th Year, The Simpsons, and The Tonight Show.

     

    Gamers may have heard him without even knowing it:  He is credited as a member of the chorus on the soundtrack to God of War.

     

    In the field of music education, he has served on the faculty of the California College of Music.
