     Weaver, Brent

He is a bass singer and composer born in Central California.  He studied at Indiana’s Goshen College and took his graduate studies at the University of Oregon, where he received his doctorate in vocal performance and composition.  Entering into his professional career he became a teacher at Clayton State University in Atlanta, Georgia, staying there for a 14-year period and putting together the baccalaureate program in music.  He moved onto Oregon in 2001 to take up a teaching post at George Fox University where he currently remains giving tuition in composition and music theory.  He sang with the Robert Shaw Chamber Singers during the mid 1990s and his compositions are now being recognised.  His works include “Soliloquy on a Gospel Hymn” which was premiered at the Goshen College, the chamber opera Aria da Capo, the anthem “I Sing With Exultation”, Advent Cantata, “Fanfares and Antiphons” for organ, “February Fanfares” for seven synthesisers and piano and Witnesses: A Symphony.
