She is a trumpeter, bugler, conductor and teacher who
has appeared as a soloist and member of orchestras and ensembles. She has gained her education in
music from the University of Miami, where she also gained a degree in Sports
Psychology, Syracuse University and the Tanglewood Institute on a
Fellowship of Leonard Bernstein.
Her career has taken her from the world of classical
to pop and she has performed with artists and groups that include Luciano
Pavarotti, The Temptations, Mannheim Steamroller, Mel Torme, the Bob
Coleman Orchestra, the Compton Heights Concert Band, Union Avenue Opera,
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Illinois Symphony, University City Symphony
Orchestra, the Clarion Band whom she also manages, the St. Louis Brass Band
and for two years she was the Principal Trumpet of New Orleans
Symphony.
As a conductor she has led various ensembles including
the Oasis New Horizon’s Band from its beginnings in 1999.
In February 1999 she and two other members of the International
Women’s Brass Conference played fanfares on four-foot long trumpets
at the Cathedral Basilica and in the TWA Dome for the visit of John Paul II
to St. Louis, Missouri.
Up until September 2007 she was a bugler who would
play the final taps at the funerals of veterans but sadly this was stopped
due to federal budget cuts and she performed her final duty at Jefferson
Barracks National Cemetery.
As a teacher she is an Adjunct Professor at St. Louis
University and she gives private tuition to a wide range of students.
