He is a trumpeter, conductor and composer who has
performed with many ensembles, orchestras and artists throughout his career,
which started in the 1950s, including the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble and
the London Symphony Orchestra. He began to conduct in 1975 and followed
that by creating his own compositions and later playing more in the field
