attended the University of Music in Vienna
and the Vienna Conservatory and studied with Karl Barylli
and Franz Samohl.
He formed the
Franz Schubert Quartett in 1974. Other groups with whom he has worked
include the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Netherlands
Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Orquesta
de Valencia and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
On 5th July
1994, the Franz Schubert Quartett appeared at the
Pittville Pump Room where they performed Alan Rawsthorne’s “String Quartet No. 2”.
He and pianist Florian Krumpock, violist
Vera Reigersberg, cellist Attila Szekely and contrabassist Ernst Weissensteiner
interpreted Franz Schubert’s “Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667”
(“Forellenquintett”) at Vienna Musikverein on 9th June 2011.
In September 2011, the
Vienna Symphony Orchestra boarded the Swiss Pearl for a week of music on
the Rhone and Saone. Florian
was the soloist in a performance of “Violin Concerto No. 7 in D
major, K. 271a” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
He reunited with Florian Krumpock and Attila Szekely in Brahms Hall at the Vienna Musikverein on 6th May 2012. Their program comprised “Piano
Trio in A minor, Op. 50” by Peter Ilyich
Tchaikovsky and “Piano Trio No. 7 in B flat major, Op. 97” (“Archduke”)
by Ludwig van Beethoven.
On 22nd March
2013, Florian and violist Herbert Muller were
guest soloists of Orquesta de Valencia in Iturbi
Hall where they performed Mozart’s “Sinfonia
Concertante in E flat major, K. 364.

Orchestra; and, Franz Schubert: String Quartet No. 15 in G, D. 887,

In the field of music
education, he has given master classes and served on the faculties of Scuola di Musica
and the Vienna Conservatory.
