    Gentry, Teddy Wayne (22nd January 1952-Present)

    He was born in Fort Payne, Alabama, and  is a founding member of the groupAlabama.  He was interested in music from an early age and in the late 1960s he teamed up with his cousin Randy Owen and Jeff Cook and they performed in the evenings.  In 1973 they officially becameAlabama and he was with them as bass player, vocalist and songwriter until their Farewell Concerts in 2003/4.  He has written hundreds of songs.  Before and during his musical career he has also had jobs that include running a theatre and working on a farm.
