He was born Alex Francfort and
is a singer/drummer/percussionist born in Martinique,
West Indies, and the brother of Chris and Patrick Francfort/Gibson.They formed the band Gibson Brothers in around 1976 and cut their
first single, which he had written, "Come to America"
in 1976 which was successful in Europe.Their next single was their first
million-seller in Europe.He co-wrote several of their songs
including the hit "Ooh! What a Life" with Daniel Vangarde.Although
not popular in the US,
they met with much more success in the European scene.Although disco music essentially
collapsed in 1980, the brothers continued to tour and release discs.
