    Goland, Arnold

    He is a songwriter, conductor, arranger and orchestrator.  He worked on Broadway shows as an arranger of dance and music as well as an orchestrator on productions such as Oh, Kay!, The Student Gypsy and Here's Where I Belong.  He was also the vocal administrator on the 1965 movie Billie.  He has conducted and arranged albums by artists such as Luis Bonfa, Johny Mathis, Patty Duke, Shirley Bassey and Mel Torme and has collaborated with songwriters on several songs such as "It Hurts to Stay Goodbye" and "The Best Days of My Life".  During the 1960s he had his own orchestra and released the single "Return from the Ashes" which was credited to Arnold Goland, His Orchestra and Chorus, which was later also recorded by Johnny Dankworth.
