    Lima, Natalicio Moreyra (1920s?-Present)

Born with the name Erundi, in Ceara, Brazil, as a member of the Tabajara tribe, he and his brother, Andalucio, became the duo Los Indios Tabajares.  In 1933 they walked from Ceara around 1000 miles to Rio de Janeiro, which took about 3 years, and as they traveled they picked up traditional folk songs. Once in Rio they were baptized and took the name of the person that had performed the baptism.  He and his brother were self-taught musicians who had their first public performance in 1945 and after studying music they made an album in 1953. Natalicio wrote several classical guitar compositions and their concerts often included music composed by classical composers such as Rimsky-Korsakov and Chopin.  They moved to the US and toured the Americas and Europe and then released the hit record "Maria Elena" which hit the charts at No.5 in the UK and No.6 in the US in 1963.
