    Smith, Howard "Russell" (17th June 1949-Present)

    He is a guitarist and singer-songwriter born in Lafayette, Tennessee.  He was a founder member of the band Amazing Rhythm Aces.  When the group split in 1981 he went on to Nashville and gained success as a songwriter with tracks written for artists including Randy Travis and Don Williams.    He has also played with Run C&W.  He has released self-titled albums since the 1970s.
